Club SACE

Club SACE is a great way to make Australian and international friends with fellow students and teachers.  The campus’s Club SACE programme organises a range of inexpensive, fun social activities for students both during the week and on weekends.

These include a movie afternoon after class during the week, an afternoon excursion every Friday to a local attraction and full day excursions to local and regional areas on the weekend.

Local Attractions

The Whitsundays is located at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.  It is the world’s greatest aquatic playground and home to over 74 tropical islands.
The Whitsundays offers one of the largest choices of marine tourism experiences – learn to scuba dive, sail on the pristine Great Barrier Reef marine park, relax on a tropical island resort or explore the many uninhabited island national parks.

Airlie Beach lagoon, situated on the landscaped Pacific Ocean foreshore, offers swimmers safe all year round free access to clear, clean waters, a stroll from the main street and 10 minutes bus ride from the Whitsundays College of English.

Conway National Park State rain forest areas offer a range of walking treks through tropical rain forests and with views of the sea and Whitsundays Islands.

Centred around the local Sugar Mill, Proserpine is located inland from Airlie Beach and is rich in heritage. The Proserpine Museum houses thought-provoking displays which showcase the most significant achievements of this region during the last century.

Getting Around

A student card issued on first day of your course entitles full-time students to a discount on the Whitsunday Transit Bus Service. Buses run regularly throughout the area daily.

Buses and Taxis service the Whitsunday Coast Airport.

Cruise Whitsundays run regular ferries between Shute Harbour or Abel Point Marina and the Whitsunday Islands. These ferries also service Hamilton Island Airport.
